He won the Light Heavyweight title against Shogun at just 23 years of age in 2011 and he has not been beaten since.

Lyoto Machida, Rampage Jackson, Rashad Evans, Chael Sonnen, Alexander Gustafsson and Daniel Cormier have all tried and failed.

He has recently beaten two former Middleweights in Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos, the latter giving him one of his biggest challenges in recent times.

His opponent at UFC 247 is certainly no Middleweight. Dominick Reyes is a 6 ft 4-inch athlete. He twice made the All-Conference team when playing football at Stony Brook University.

His NFL dream never came to fruition, however, he gets his chance at the ultimate glory in Mixed Martial Arts this weekend against Jon Jones.

He has never tasted defeat as an MMA fighter including his first six fights inside the Octagon.

Although he is somewhat inexperienced in this sport, he has incredible striking ability and athleticism and there is no doubting he deserved the next shot at the champ.

Whilst the obvious play in this title fight is to stick with one of the most dominant fighters in the history of the sport, I am always wary of the undefeated fighter.
