It’s fair to say this might be the most exciting game of the entire season when the top two sides meet in Canberra on Saturday night.
Perth’s shock loss to Brisbane on Tuesday saw them finish second on the ladder, while the Sixers wound up four points clear at the top after taking care of the Stars.
These two sides have split their two meetings one win apiece this season and it appears the bookies are having a tough time separating them as a result.
Both sides have strengths on either side of the ball. Josh Phillipe finished the season ranked second in runs scored, while Jyhe Richardson led the competition comfortably in wickets taken.
Perhaps the one deciding factor here will be the neutral ground of Manuka Oval, a venue Perth has struggled at all season.
The Scorchers lost comfortably to the Thunder in Canberra early in the season, before losing by 86 runs to the Sixers here earlier in the month.
Sydney, meanwhile, has firmly enjoyed their time in Canberra playing to a perfect 2-0 record.
The Scorchers have also shown a tendency to struggle following defeat playing to a 2-3 record in their last five games.
Like Friday’s game, this one could really go either way, but the Sixers do look the safer bet when it comes to trends and form.
