Sebastian Vettel favourite to win Australian Grand Prix 2013

While Mark Webber has had more bets placed on him than any other competitor with online bookmaker sportsbet.com to win the Australian Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel looms as the one to beat and is the $3.60 favourite.

Webber is well and truly in the hunt at $9.50, however faces stiff competition with Fernando Alonso ($5.50), Jenson Button ($6.00) Lewis Hamilton ($8.00) and Kimi Raikkonen ($8.50).

Fellow Aussie Daniel Ricciardo is a long shot at $151, with ‘no’ and Australian won’t win looking likely at $1.06, with yes priced at $8.00.

A podium finish for an Australian also looks unlikely at $2.63, with no Aussies to be popping the champagne priced at $1.44.

“The punters are tipping that Webber can finally win his first Australian Grand Prix and he has been well backed, but Sebastian Vettel has been the favourite since the market opened and that doesn’t look like changing ,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

Punters are also able to bet on how well attended the event will be this year, with a line set at above or below 314,000 fans priced at $1.83.

Channel 7’s Mark Beretta is still the $4.00 favourite to win the Celebrity Race, followed closely by Brad Hodge, Chris Tarrant and Sir Chris Hoy all priced at $6.00.
