Set to play the second of a pair of matchups at Target Center, the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves will do battle on Friday night. Memphis won Wednesday’s matchup 118-107 – its fourth straight win against Minnesota. Behind 90-80 after the third period, it marked the biggest three-quarter-time margin the Grizzlies have trailed by before going on to win the game since January 6, 2017. Jonas Valanciunas (24 points, 16 rebounds) was integral to that win while Karl-Anthony Towns (25 points, 14 rebounds) did his best for Minnesota. The Timberwolves have now lost eight of their last nine, while Memphis moved to 4-1 on the road this season. In a boost to the Grizzlies’ chances, Ja Morant (questionable) could return from an eight-game absence and Ricky Rubio is out for Minnesota.
