Brisbane Heat vs Melbourne Stars Preview

As if a battle between second and third wasn’t enough, Thursday’s slate also features a crucial game between the fifth-placed Stars and the sixth-placed Heat on the Gold Coast.

These two sides actually opened their season against one another last month in a game Melbourne won quite comfortably by six wickets.

Unfortunately, things have gone a little south since then for the Stars, although there was a bit to like about their narrow win over the Hurricanes on Monday night.

Brisbane is also coming off an upset win over the Sixers earlier in the week that they will be hoping to build on after Mujeed Ur Rahman and Mark Steketee combined for four wickets.

So far neither of these two teams have played at Metricon this season, but I am leaning towards Brisbane based on the fact the Stars have typically struggled against the Heat up in Queensland.

Brisbane’s much-improved bowling attack has really helped turn their season around, and since they also have less distance to travel, the $2.20 looks too good to pass up.
