Preview:

Records: Philadelphia Eagles (10-6); New Orleans Saints (11-5).

TV/Radio: NBC (national). WIP-FM 94.1 (Philadelphia), WIP-AM 610 (Philadelphia).

Latest lines: Eagles, minus 2.5. Over-under, 54.

Last time they met: The Saints beat the Eagles on Nov. 5, 2012, 28-13 in New Orleans. The last time they played in Philadelphia, in 2009, the Saints won 48-22.

Series notes: The Eagles hold a 16-12 lead all-time against the Saints, but have lost four of the last five against them.

Key matchup: Drew Brees vs. Eagles secondary

Eagles corner Brandon Boykin was the hero last week against Dallas, picking off Kyle Orton to seal the win. Orton is no Drew Brees. Brees is coming off the fourth 5,000-yard passing season of his career and the Eagles secondary won’t be able to do much to stop him.

What they need to do is limit the big play over the top and help their linebackers contain tight end Jimmy Graham over the middle and RB Darren Sproles in the flats.

Noteworthy stat: 0-3. Drew Brees is 0-3 on the road in the playoffs as a member of the Saints.

Looking ahead: If the Eagles win, they will head to Carolina next week, the No. 2 seed. The Panthers had a bye this week.

Rob Edwards’ prediction: I could make points to pick this game either way.

The Saints haven’t been great on the road this year with a 3-5 record, but lost to five really good home teams. Poor weather conditions should slow down their passing game, but it’s still Drew Brees under center and it’s tough to count him out.

The Eagles will need to hope for precipitation and control the ball on the ground with LeSean McCoy. As long as they don’t turn the ball over, which they haven’t done much of this year, this game should be close til the end. There’s no reason to believe that the Birds can’t pull this one out late and head to Carolina.
