Online bookmaker Sportingbet expects more than $1 million will be wagered with them by Australians on tomorrow’s Super Bowl XLVIII, which sees the top two pre-season favourites Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks go head to head in New York.
The Peyton Manning-led Broncos have firmed into $1.80 favourites at Sportingbet to win the annual championship game of the National Football League, with the Seahawks at odds of $2.05.
“We originally put up Seattle as favourites but just like the sports books in Vegas we’ve taken significantly more money for the Broncos and their odds have shortened from $2,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
“The interest in American football continues to increase rapidly and for this Super Bowl we are offering more than 150 unique markets.”
Manning is a $2.10 favourite at Sportingbet to be MVP in front of his opposite, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, at $3.75.
With freezing temperatures forecast, the game total points has been set at a relatively small 47.5 points.
