Gold Coast co-captain William Zillman has been ruled out of Sunday’s NRL clash with Newcastle due to a calf injury.
David Mead has been slotted into fullback for Zillman, while new recruit John Olive has been injected onto the wing in a reshuffled Titans backline.
Olive had only arrived earlier this week from South Sydney and trained with the Titans for the first time on Thursday.
It was another blow for Zillman who had not played an NRL match since Round 10 last year due to a back complaint.
