Wests Tigers duo face suspension

Wests Tigers pair Bodene Thompson and Sitaleki Akauola are facing time on the sidelines after being charged by the NRL judiciary.

Thompson will miss one week if he accepts an early guilty plea for his dangerous contact from Monday night’s loss to Melbourne at Campbelltown Stadium.

He could be rubbed out for two weeks if he unsuccessfully fights the charge.

Akauola will also spend a week out if he pleads guilty to his shoulder charge on Billy Slater and risks a two-week suspension if the club challenges it.

They were the only players to be charged from Monday’s match.

The Sydney Roosters’ Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (high tackle), Canberra’s Josh Papalii (dangerous contact), Parramatta’s Junior Paulo (dangerous contact) and Manly’s Jesse Sene-Lefao (dangerous contact) will be free to play this weekend after accepting early guilty pleas.
