Warriors unchanged for clash with Manly

The Warriors, fresh from their 56-18 NRL thrashing of Brisbane, will field an unchanged line-up for the visit of Manly on Sunday.

Coach Matthew Elliott has retained the same 17 who took the field against the Broncos, while adding prop Suaia Matagi to a five-man bench.

The Warriors’ 10-tries-to-three victory at Suncorp Stadium on Monday night meant they ended the round in 14th spot.

Manly are fourth and have been the dominant side in matches between the two clubs in recent times.

The Sea Eagles have won their past six matches against the Warriors, and 11 of the past 13 dating back to 2006.

“They’re exceptionally difficult opponents,” Elliott said.

“They challenge every side they play.”

Elliott also said the Warriors showed what they were capable of in their performance against the Broncos.

“I’m confident we can test any side,” he said.

“What we need to do now, though, is to deliver that level of performance consistently over a long period of time.”

Warriors: Kevin Locke, Glen Fisiiahi, Dane Nielsen, Konrad Hurrell, Manu Vatuvei, Thomas Leuluai, Shaun Johnson, Sam Rapira, Nathan Friend, Russell Packer, Feleti Mateo, Simon Mannering (capt), Elijah Taylor. Interchange: Ben Matulino, Jacob Lillyman, Sebastine Ikahihifo, Dominique Peyroux, Suaia Matagi.
