Walters to finalise Qld side on Thursday

Queensland coach Kevin Walters will finalise his Maroons line-up on Thursday.

Mystery has surrounded the make-up of the team since they announced their 17-strong squad for next week’s State of Origin game two in Sydney in alphabetical order.

Walters said they could finally list their side after prop Jarrod Wallace was cleared of a shoulder charge at the NRL judiciary.

He is also toying with blooding regular fullback Darius Boyd in the centres after Billy Slater returned to reclaim his No.1 jumper.

“We weren’t trying to be funny or smart by naming an alphabetical team. We just weren’t sure what was going on with Jarrod at the judiciary, and a couple of other positions but we will sort that out tomorrow where everyone is playing,” Walters said in Mackay for Queensland’s fan day.
