Waerea-Hargreaves facing 1-2 week NRL ban

Sydney Roosters prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is facing another stint on the sidelines after being charged with a grade two careless high tackle on Manly’s Glenn Stewart.

Waerea-Hargreaves will get a one-match ban if he enters an early guilty plea and risks two matches if he contests the charge by the match review committee stemming from the premiers’ 8-0 loss to Manly in their grand final rematch on Friday night.

The big New Zealander also copped a five-match ban when the Roosters played his former club Manly last season.

Warriors second rower Sione Lousi faces a two-to-three week ban after being charged with a dangerous throw for a tackle in which Wests Tigers counterpart Cory Paterson landed on his head in a scary moment in Wellington on Saturday.

Melbourne winger Sisa Waqa was charged with a careless high tackle on Canterbury’s Sam Perrett in Perth but the match review panel did not deem it serious enough to warrant a suspension.
