Travis Waddell’s exile from Canberra’s NRL starting line-up has lasted just one week, with the hooker being recalled following an injury to Glen Buttriss.
Buttriss hurt his knee in the Raiders’ demoralising 44-22 loss to Cronulla on Sunday, clearing a path for Waddell’s return.
It’s one of just a few tweaks Canberra have made ahead of this Sunday’s clash with defending champions Manly, who are coming off a confidence-boosting win over Des Hasler’s Canterbury.
But Raiders assistant coach Justin Morgan warned on Tuesday that players could still face the axe if they underperform at training after lacking urgency against the Sharks.
Josh Dugan will start at fullback in his second game back from injury while Bronson Harrison has been named on the bench for the Brookvale Oval fixture after recovering from an ankle sprain.
