Titans name Peachey in centres for trial

Speculation over where Gold Coast coach Garth Brennan will play Tyrone Peachey appears over after the NSW utility was named in the centres for their weekend NRL trial against Brisbane.

Considered a chance to slot in at five-eighth since arriving from Penrith, Peachey will instead combine in the centres with Brian Kelly after Brennan unveiled a near full strength 24-strong squad for Saturday night’s home trial.

Peachey and fellow recruit, ex-Test forward Shannon Boyd, will play their first game in Titans colours.

Instead of Peachey, Tyrone Roberts has been given first crack at the No.6 jersey to partner Ash Taylor in the halves.

Another halves contender – AJ Brimson – returns from a shoulder reconstruction on an extended bench.

Giant ex-Canberra forward Boyd will partner Queensland prop Jarrod Wallace in a monster Titans front-row.

Only Titans skipper Ryan James (knee) and Keegan Hipgrave (hamstring) were unavailable for selection.
