Titans name Harrison for Penrith NRL clash

Recovering lock Ashley Harrison has been named in an extended Gold Coast squad for Sunday’s NRL clash at Penrith despite being carried from the field in a neck brace last weekend.

Manly prop Richie Fa’aoso is facing a four-week ban for his late shoulder charge which left Harrison concussed on Saturday night.

Fa’aoso will contest the grading of his dangerous contact charge at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night in a bid to reduce his suspension from four weeks to just one.

Apart from Harrison, centre Brad Takairangi (hamstring) was the other injury concern from the win over Manly and was named in a 19-strong squad by Titans coach John Cartwright on Tuesday.

Both were named in the starting side with utility Luke O’Dwyer and utility back Steve Michaels on an extended six-man bench.

If Harrison and Takairangi are cleared to play, it will mark the fourth week in a row that the Titans (4th; 2-1 record) have fielded the same 17.
