Thaiday guilty of Bromwich thumb-pull

Sam Thaiday has been found guilty of a contrary conduct charge by the NRL judiciary, and fined for pulling the injured thumb of Melbourne forward Jesse Bromwich.

Brisbane forward Thaiday argued he was not aware Bromwich’s thumb was injured, and he was merely attempting to stop a try and slow the play-the-ball.

However, after a 75-minute hearing, a three-man panel took just 15 minutes to disagree. Thaiday will be fined $2100 for the incident.
