Te’o to face NRL judiciary panel

The NRL have officially confirmed Brisbane back-rower Ben Te’o will face the judiciary panel on Wednesday evening to fight his grade three dangerous contact charge. The Broncos said on Tuesday they’d challenge the decision, which would have seen Te’o miss three matches for his shoulder charge to the head of Wests Tigers prop Matt Groat, had he taken the early guilty plea. Te’o is the first player to face such a charge and he will miss four matches if he is found guilty by the three-man panel. South Sydney prop Roy Asotasi and Penrith five-eighth Travis Burns have pleaded guilty to high tackle charges, and will both avoid suspensions.
