Tedesco suffers new knee injury blow

James Tedesco’s wretched injury luck has struck again with the young Wests Tigers fullback being stretchered off with a serious-looking knee injury less than 10 seconds into Saturday’s NRL clash with Canberra.

Tedesco, who reneged on an agreement to join the Raiders earlier this month, collided with Canberra five-eighth Terry Campese after catching the kick-off and fell straight to the ground clutching his left knee.

It was the same knee that required a reconstruction in 2012 on his NRL debut and his absence could be a huge blow to the Tigers’ hopes of a top-eight finish.

Tigers officials confirmed Tedesco has fractured his knee cap and will be sidelined for 10-12 weeks.

The 21-year-old was taken straight to hospital for scans with his parents accompanying him in the ambulance.
