The resurgent Sydney Roosters will be eyeing a third straight win during the Origin period when they host a struggling Wests Tigers outfit on Sunday. The Roosters have won five of their past seven to surge into contention, including a 42-8 demolition of the Cowboys before their Round 17 bye.

Despite again being without Angus Crichton, Connor Watson, Lindsay Collins and Spencer Leniu due to Origin, the Roosters have already proven their depth with strong wins during the rep period — most notably a gritty 12-8 victory over Newcastle.

The Tigers, meanwhile, have slumped to six straight losses and will field a makeshift spine with Api Koroisau (concussion) out and Jarome Luai on Blues duty. They were listless in a 28-10 defeat to Manly and continue to tumble down the ladder.

The Roosters have dominated this rivalry, winning 18 of the last 19, including eight straight. Expect that trend to continue in convincing fashion.
