Match of the round should take place in the final game of round 16 with Sydney hosting Manly.
The two sides met back in round 9 at Brookvale Oval with Sydney registering a 16 – 4 win. That was the Rooster’s first win over Manly in five matches.
Since that game, the Roosters are 2-3 with wins coming over Parramatta and at their most recent match, a narrow 20 – 18 win over Canterbury.
Manly have only won one of their past five matches – that being a 16 – 10 victory over Canberra.
Their recent games have been narrow losses to New Zealand and Canterbury which went to Gold Point time.
This has seen the Sea Eagle slide to sixth on the ladder, only win point in front of Cronulla and Canberra who round out the eight.
This will be a great clash. Rooster’s halves pairing will be backing up from Wednesday night’s Origin and will need to be at their best given that, despite not being in winning form, the Manly’s last three losses have been by 2 points.
Should be another tough affair with Manly at the start an attractive option.
