The Sydney Roosters have emerged as the best supported team at Sportingbet for Round 1 of the NRL, firming from $1.77 into $1.70 to defeat South Sydney ($2.05 to $2.20).
The line on the game has moved from 2 points to 2.5 points as a result of the heavy support for the Roosters.
“The Chooks have attracted more than 85% of the head to head money this week with punters shunning the Bunnies due to their injury concerns,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
The Titans have also met with support to upset the Sharks on Monday night, shortening from $2.45 into $2.30 at Sportingbet. Cronulla has eased from $1.55 to $1.63.
Sportingbet is offering money back on NRL head to head bets on Thursday night and Friday night if the team backed scores 12 points or more but loses the game.
