Stop playing the blame game: Bennett

Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett says it is time to stop blaming the NRL amid growing calls for the league to address the misuse of prescription medicine.

“I don’t think there is (a misuse problem) from what I can see,” Bennett said.

“(But) I am a bit over always blaming the game.

“Are we perfect? No. But somewhere along the line someone has to take responsibility for their actions.”

Calls for an NRL probe into misuse was sparked by South Sydney’s Dylan Walker and Aaron Gray being rushed to a Sydney hospital on Tuesday.

They are expected to make a full recovery from an overdose of painkillers.
