State Of Origin 2013: Punters back NSW Blues

The odds of a NSW victory in State Of Origin game 1 continue to shorten at Sportingbet with the Blues set to start tonight’s series opener at ANZ stadium as clear-cut favourites.

Punters have slashed the Blues odds from $1.97 into $1.83 with Sportingbet since Sunday, while Queensland’s odds have drifted from $1.87 out to $2.02.

“The money is coming in 70/30 in favour of the Blues,” Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said.

“It is surprising when you consider the Origin experience of the Queensland team and the fact they’ve won seven straight series,” Sullivan said.

NSW hooker Robbie Farah is a $6 favourite with Sportingbet to be Man Of The Match in front of Queensland’s Johnathan Thurston and Cooper Cronk, both at $7.
