The Sydney Roosters will aim to turn their season around in a high-stakes prime-time showdown against arch-rivals, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, at Accor Stadium on Friday night. After a difficult start to 2025, the Roosters are eager to rebound from a shock defeat to the Titans, which ended their 11-game winning streak against them despite holding a 12-8 lead with 20 minutes remaining.
Meanwhile, the Rabbitohs, under the guidance of Wayne Bennett, have hit the ground running, securing three wins from their first four matches. Their most recent triumph saw them dismantle the Panthers 28-18 after racing to a commanding 28-0 lead. South Sydney will be boosted by the return of Latrell Mitchell, who slots into the centres after recovering from injury, while Jye Gray retains the fullback role. However, Alex Johnston’s absence due to a rib injury forces Isaiah Tass to shift to the wing.
