Penrith’s shock loss to South Sydney in week one of the NRL Finals has seen them drift in the TAB Premiership market from $2.75 out to $3.75.
The Panthers have been the best backed team to win the title with 31 percent of the market but will now face either Parramatta or Newcastle in sudden-death football next weekend, before a potential Preliminary Final against Premiership favourites Melbourne.
TAB has cut South Sydney’s Premiership odds from $11 into $5.50 after the 16-10 victory. They’ve been reinstalled as third favourite for the title above Manly who have drifted from $6.50 out to $8 following Friday night’s loss to the Storm.
However, the Sea Eagles have opened as $1.32 favourites against the Roosters ($3.40) for next week’s knockout semi, after the Roosters survived a major scare from the Titans.
The Eels are $1.40 favourites against the Knights at $3, in the remaining week one elimination final.
