Wayne Bennett says it is unrealistic for Billy Slater to be considered for Queensland’s State of Origin side after a long injury absence.
Slater, 33, will end a year-long wait on the sidelines when he returns from a shoulder reconstruction in Melbourne’s home NRL clash against Brisbane on Thursday night.
Queensland will monitor Slater’s progress ahead of this year’s Origin series but Bennett said the veteran No.1 should not be considered just yet.
