Retiring Melbourne superstar Billy Slater’s career may be over even if the Storm make the grand final, with the fullback likely to be in the sights of the NRL match review committee.

Slater could be in trouble after being penalised for a shoulder charge on Sosaia Feki in the 14th minute, with the hit knocking the Sharks winger over the sideline, saving a certain try.

The base penalty for a shoulder charge is two weeks, meaning if charged and found guilty Slater’s career would be over even if the Storm made the decider.
