Cronulla’s Matt Prior is set to miss this Saturday’s NRL clash with Parramatta after being hit with a grade-one dangerous throw charge.
Prior was cited for his tackle on Penrith rookie Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in the 41st minute of the Sharks’ surprise 18-16 win over the Panthers on Saturday in Bathurst.
Even with an early guilty plea, Prior will be suspended for one match thanks to carry-over points from a non-similar offence in the last two years.
The Sharks have until midday Tuesday to enter a plea or decide to contest the charge.
