Sharks’ Ennis to make shock NRL retirement

Cronulla hooker Michael Ennis is expected to announce on Tuesday that he will retire at the end of the NRL season.

Ennis, 32, has an option on his contract to play another year but is believed to have told teammates he will hang up his boots.

The former NSW State of Origin representative has played 264 NRL games in stints at Newcastle, St George Illawarra, Brisbane, Canterbury and the Sharks.
