Sharks’ Ennis announces NRL retirement

Cronulla veteran Michael Ennis has announced he will retire at the end of the NRL season.

Ennis, 32, had an option in his contract to play one more year but told teammates on Tuesday he wanted to spend more time with his family.

The former NSW State of Origin representative has played 264 games across stints at Newcastle, Brisbane, St George Illawarra, Canterbury and the Sharks.
