Second Hodgson video emerges

Another video has emerged of England hooker Josh Hodgson’s antics.

But the NRL can breath easy – this time Hodgson is only breaking the ice at his new club the Canberra Raiders, not doors.

It seems the Raiders can now see the funny side of Hodgson’s now infamous destruction of a Dunedin student’s apartment door, judging by a video released on their official website on Thursday.

To the tune of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”, Hodgson can be seen sizing up the entry to the Raiders headquarters at the start of the footage.

He then charges at it dropping his shoulder before stopping suddenly, smiling at the camera then politely knocking on the glass front door.

Hodgson tried to explain the viral video footage of him agreeing to the drunken dare and charging through a student dormitory door in New Zealand after England’s Four Nations Test at the weekend.

“The boys went out and we ended up somewhere we probably should not have been,” he told Raiders TV.

“I got told to do what I did by the people at the flat but I still shouldn’t have gone and done it.

“But I am only human. I made a mistake.

“I will learn from that and hopefully just move on.

“I will try to forget about it now and be excited about getting to know the boys here.”

Hodgson – who has an “opportunity doesn’t knock, it presents itself when you beat the door down” tattoo – will be disciplined by England.

The 25-year-old was clearly remorseful over the incident and was most disappointed that he had created a bad first impression on the NRL.

“I am up for a laugh. I don’t mind getting a bit relaxed in the off-season and enjoying myself,” he said.

“But there is a line and I probably crossed the line but I will learn from that.

“In season I would like people to think I am a pretty professional bloke.

“But I am not going to worry about it.

“There was nothing malicious about it at all.

Hodgson was given extended leave by Raiders coach Ricky Stuart after making his England debut at the Four Nations, starting the first two games of the tournament.

But he launched into Raiders pre-season training on Tuesday despite arriving in the nation’s capital the night before.

“I could have had a bit more time off but …I think it is the right thing to do,” he said.

“Being at a new club I want to make a good impression on everyone.”
