Former Great Britain rugby league coach Brian Noble was named the new Salford boss on Saturday but his new team slumped to a 24-18 home loss to Hull.
Noble, the ex Bradford, Wigan, Crusaders and Great Britain coach, will be in charge for the first time in next weekend’s Challenge Cup tie at the University of Gloucester All Golds.
But he will have a lot of work to do with a team who are second bottom on five points from 12 Super League games.
Noble succeeds Phil Veivers who was sacked last month.
