Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson has refused to trumpet Mitchell Pearce’s credential for a State of Origin recall.

Pearce has started the year as arguably the form playmaker of the NRL and is trying to unseat Adam Reynolds, James Maloney and Matt Moylan who shared halves duties during last year’s series loss.

Pearce was overlooked by the Blues in 2016 after sitting the first eight weeks for disciplinary reasons, however Robinson is wary of putting undue pressure on him and refused to buy into the debate.
