Sydney Roosters centre Blake Ferguson has been ruled out for four months after sustaining ligament damage in his right foot against Canberra on Sunday.
The news is a huge blow for the 25-year-old who had scored three tries in his last two appearances since returning to the NRL following a year out of the game due to off-field indiscretions when at the Raiders.
He will undergo surgery in Sydney on Tuesday.
