Rival halfbacks in doubt for GC trial

Opposing halfbacks Adam Reynolds and Ash Taylor are in doubt to play the Gold Coast’s NRL trial against South Sydney on Saturday night.

Rabbitohs playmaker Reynolds had been cleared of a fractured foot after the All Stars game but missed South Sydney training on Friday.

Gold Coast half Taylor is battling a shoulder injury and may be denied another chance to gel with new pivot Tyrone Roberts.

Taylor was thrust into the Titans No.7 jersey when Kane Elgey (knee) broke down in the pre-season.

The trial will officially welcome back Rabbitohs’ dual international Sam Burgess in his first game since the 2014 grand final following a season away playing rugby in England.
