Reynolds facing three-match NRL ban

Canterbury five-eighth Josh Reynolds is facing a three-match NRL ban for his wild half an hour against Brisbane on Friday night.

The match review committee released their findings for round 22 on Monday, with the NSW No.6 hit with a grade-one dangerous contact charge for kicking Sam Thaiday in the head and a grade-two tripping charge on former teammate Ben Barba.

He was not charged for a high tackle on Alex Glenn which resulted in his sin-binning.

Given 88 carry-over points, Reynolds will miss three weeks with an early guilty plea to both charges, leaving him to play the Bulldogs’ final regular-season match against the Gold Coast Titans.

South Sydney prop George Burgess is set to miss two games – against the Broncos and Cowboys – with an early guilty plea for a “chicken wing” tackle on Manly centre Steve Matai.

However, Burgess’ teammate Issac Luke won’t miss a game if he pleads guilty to his role in the same tackle.

Sam Tagataese’s season looks to be over after the Cronulla forward was hit with a grade-three dangerous throw on Warriors centre Dan Nielsen.

Tagataese will be sidelined for four matches with an early guilty plea.

Manly prop Josh Starling was hit with two dangerous contact charges and can miss their clash with the Titans this round with an early guilty plea.
