Retiring Cowboy Scott suffers stroke

North Queensland forward Matt Scott remains in hospital after suffering a stroke on Sunday, with doctors confident he will make a full recovery.

Scott, who announced last month this NRL season would be his last, remains in hospital in Brisbane with a return date to Townsville unknown.

The 34-year-old has played 268 NRL games over 16 seasons but doctors are confident the “mild stroke” was unrelated to football.
