Reed won’t be rushed back: Parker

Brisbane captain Corey Parker does not believe Jack Reed will be fast-tracked back into the Broncos line-up after centre Jordan Kahu’s injury.

Parker has backed Alex Glenn to fill the centre vacancy created by Kahu (quad) when they run out against the Warriors in Brisbane on Friday night.

Glenn was thrust into the position when Kahu broke down early in Brisbane’s NRL opening round win at Parramatta.

Kahu is expected to spend a month on the sidelines.

Reed missed the opening match due to a shoulder complaint.

“It’s a long season. You don’t want to bring Reedy back right now if he is not ready,” Parker said.

Asked if Glenn appeared the most likely centre replacement against a giant Warriors backline, Parker said: “He filled there the other night, he has the ability to fill that role.”
