Canberra have been dealt a huge blow ahead of the NRL finals with fullback Jack Wighton’s NRL season potentially ended by the match review committee.
Wighton has been handed a grade-two sanction for a shoulder charge on the Wests Tigers’ Joel Edwards and faces a three-match suspension even with an early guilty plea.
If Wighton, who has two prior similar offences in the past two years, elects to challenge the charge at NRL judiciary and fails he will be rubbed out for four matches.
