Queensland are now into $1.70 to win their eighth straight State of Origin series after punters with online bookmaker sportsbet upped their support of Mal Meninga’s men in recent days.
With injuries hitting the Blues camp, 96 percent of money wagered on the series winner with sportsbet.com.au has been on the Maroons.
The Blues, who were at $1.90 at the start of April, are now out to $2.15 – their biggest price since last year’s series ended.
“Queensland have been attracting most of the money anyway but since the Paul Gallen scare and possible injuries to other key Blues players, they’re not waiting around and have spear tackled the Maroons into $1.70,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes.
