Punters with online bookmaker sportsbet are torn about how game two of the 2013 State of Origin series will play out, with bets now coming in at the same rate for both sides.
Immediately after game one, money flooded in 6 to 1 for New South Wales before a swing to Queensland. In the last week, bets have come in 50/50, resulting in 56 percent of all money staked being on the Maroons’ and 46 percent on the Blues’.
Queensland are the $1.60 favourites for the match, with New South Wales the $2.35 outsider. The line currently gives the Blues’ a 4.0 point head start.
“The early money was for New South Wales before it swung sharply to Queensland, but it’s now flat lined. Bets and money are coming in at the identical rate for both teams,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.
Despite their seven year drought, punters swooped on the Blues’ winning the 2013 series 3-0 after they won game one, and although that betting trend has cooled, a New South Wales clean sweep remains the best backed option in correct score betting at $3.50.
