Penrith had good news for NSW State of Origin coach Ricky Stuart on Tuesday with injured stars Luke Lewis and Michael Jennings expected to be fit to play in the NRL on Saturday.
Centre Jennings (neck) and back-rower Lewis (arm) were both forced from the field in Monday night’s loss to Newcastle.
But the Panthers said the pair – considered certainties for NSW Origin selection – were expected to play against the ladder-leading Melbourne Storm on Saturday.
The news was much worse, however, for playmaker Luke Walsh (knee) who has been sent for scans on a suspected grade two medial ligament injury which is likely to rule him out of NRL action for several weeks.
