Penrith’s May charged over sex tapes

Penrith’s Tyrone May has been charged by NSW police in relation to the latest sex tape scandal that has engulfed the NRL.

The Panthers utility turned himself into Penrith police station on Tuesday morning where he was arrested and later charged with two counts of recording intimate image without consent and two counts of disseminate image without consent.

It is alleged May filmed two women without their knowledge while he engaged in sexual acts on separate occasions at Coffs Harbour and Kingswood last year.

Both women were unaware they were being filmed and did not consent to the recording nor its distribution.

They became aware of the videos in recent days – with May one of three Panthers players identified in the footage – and reached out to police.

The 22-year-old May has been granted bail and will face Penrith local court on May 1.

He could now be stood down under the NRL’s ramped up new behavioural policy that was implemented last week.
