Penrith trio free to play NRL grand final

Penrith have been handed a massive NRL grand-final boost with James Fisher-Harris, Isaah Yeo and Zane Tetevano all clear to play Melbourne in the season’s showpiece.

The trio avoided charge for high tackles in their preliminary final win over South Sydney when the NRL’s match-review committee findings were handed down on Sunday morning.

Fisher-Harris was the only player to be placed on report, for a shot on Souths forward Junior Tatola who was falling to the ground as contact was made.

Yeo and Tetevano were penalised for similar tackles, but all have dodged charges and will be free to play the decider next Sunday.

The news will come as a huge relief for the Panthers who are also set to welcome back second-rower Viliame Kikau from suspension to challenge Storm for the title.

Meanwhile, Souths fullback Corey Allan is facing a two-match ban for a grade-one shoulder charge on Josh Mansour in the 15th minute of Saturday’s preliminary final.

An early guilty plea will reduce the suspension to one week, which will be served in round one of the 2021 season.
