Preview:

The Panthers continued on their winning ways in round 11, recording their third win on the trot with a dominant 19-0 win over St. George.

That followed a demolishing of New Zealand and a two point win over the Storm and, having won their past four home games, are legitimate chances of possibly sneaking into the top eight for the first time this year with a win here.

It’s all going well for the Penrith who have displayed over the past month that they can score plenty of points or, if required to, grind out a win.

The Tigers broke a seven game losing streak with a hard earned win, in trying conditions, over the Cowboys in round 11, 22-20. It wasn’t pretty however, a win in any shape or form is what the Tigers desperately needed.

The Panthers haven’t beaten West since Round 7 2010, six clashes ago however, given the form over the past month of both teams and the Panthers record at home; they should prove too good for the Tigers.

Galloway re-signs with NRL’s Tigers

Keith Galloway’s injury-interrupted NRL season received a boost on Friday with the former NSW prop inking a new three-year deal while eyeing off a return to the field.

Galloway, who is ruled out indefinitely with a torn pectoral muscle suffered in round two, has been sorely missed in 2013 as the Tigers slumped to a club record seven-game losing streak.

But his signature, following on from the signing of Canterbury prop Martin Taupau and the re-signing of skipper and hooker Robbie Farah, was welcomed by coach Mick Potter.

“To have that commitment for the long term really adds some stability to our front row,” Potter said in a statement.

“Keith consistently makes the most metres which gives the team that much needed go forward.

“He definitely has a presence on the field, being a big man he stops people on contact.

“Keith really lifts the people around him when he plays.”

The 162-game veteran remained hopeful he could return to the field in the coming weeks.

“I have been working really hard in rehab and hope to be back ahead of schedule to help the team in the remainder of the season,” Galloway said.
