First placed South Sydney take on last placed Parramatta on Sydney in a game where Parramatta surprisingly, only get 10.5 start.

Parramatta have last their past four games by margins of 18, 14, 38 and 20 and have the second worst defence in the comp – which this week will have their hands full against the best attacking team in the competition.

Admittedly, Souths will be without potent attacking weapons Greg Inglis and Nathan Merritt who will involved in Origin next week but, as they showed before Origin I where they beat Newcastle (25-18) South can still win without them.

The one plus you can offer for Parramatta is that they play this game at home. This is where they’ve secured all of their three victories this year and even the games they have lost, have been competitive efforts.

As they displayed last week when, despite getting off to a good start against Cronulla before ultimately losing 32-14, the Eels do not possess a winning culture and struggle on the rare occasions that they do lead in games, to consolidate their position.

Even without the attacking duo of Inglis and Merritt, Souths will be too good.
