Parramatta Eels vs Gold Coast Titans 2013 NRL Round 11 preview and tips

Parramatta take this home game to the people of Mudgee – in the central west of New South Wales but given their only three wins this season have come at Parramatta Stadium, they may be having second thoughts.

After surprisingly accounting for Brisbane in round 9, the Eels travelled to Win Jubilee to take on the Dragons with a self proclaimed new self-confidence but, they must’ve left it on the bus because they were never in the hunt against the Dragons and trailed by 20 points at the break.

Only two tries in the last quarter of the match, saved any face for the Eels who continue to frustrate supporters with inconsistent efforts.

On the topic of inconsistency, the Gold Coast Titans are too proving a hard team to get a handle on having only won two of their past six matches.

One of those wins was over Parramatta in Round 6 where, after trailing by 14 points in the second half, three late tries saw the Titans victorious 28-26.

Last week was the second time during that same six week period that the Titans were on the wrong end of the final score against the Broncos (32-6), despite the Broncos missing several key players this time around.

It was a disappointing effort by the Titans last week and with neither side in form, this is a game to be wary of. The only consistency seems to be that when these two sides meet, points are scored with the last five clashes producing a total match point tally of 40 or more.
