Penrith have nabbed promising young hooker Apisai Koroisau from South Sydney on a two-year NRL deal.
The 21-year-old will join the Panthers for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
The youngster has played just eight first-grade games for the Rabbitohs, as well as four Tests for Fiji and was part of their World Cup squad last year.
Koroisau’s move comes as little surprise, though, following Souths’ first-choice rake Issac Luke long-term commitment to the club last month.
Panthers general manager of rugby league Phil Moss said Koroisau will add some much-needed depth to their ranks.
“He has speed, agility and representative football experience and he will play a key role in our team structure in the years to come,” Moss said in a statement on Tuesday.
