Panther Simmons to retire at end of season

Penrith veteran David Simmons will retire after this week’s final NRL game of the regular season against the Warriors.

The match doubles as Simmons’ 200th match of his career.

The 30-year-old departs rugby league after scoring 103 tries over 14 years in the NRL, having debuted with Cronulla in 2003.

He played 112 games and scored 54 tries in seven years at the Sharks before moving to Penrith, where he crossed the line 49 times in 87 games.
