NSW will start Matt Moylan at five-eighth for Wednesday night’s State of Origin dead rubber against Queensland.
The Blues had named Jack Bird at No.6 for the game-three clash at ANZ Stadium but have made an expected late change with Penrith skipper Moylan coming into the starting line-up.
It’s a turnaround for Moylan after being initially overlooked by Blues selectors when the team for game three had been originally named.
Adam Reynolds’ shoulder injury opened the door for Moylan to be recalled for his third Origin appearance.
Bird, playing his second Origin, will take on a utility role from the interchange bench.
The Blues will also feature debutants Wade Graham and James Tedesco in what will be captain Paul Gallen’s final Origin appearance.
Queensland have made no changes to their named line-up with Nate Myles to return for the Maroons after missing game two with a knee injury.
Winger Dane Gagai, who has battled a quad strain in the build-up to the match, will start on the wing.
Gagai needs two more tries to break the record for the most tries in a series after scoring four so far this year.
Corey Parker will play in his 19th and final Origin match while Gavin Cooper debuts off the bench as an injury replacement for Michael Morgan (knee).
Queensland hold an unassailable 2-0 lead heading into the match, having wrapped up their 10th series in 11 years with a 26-16 victory last month in Brisbane.
